CLOSURE^® RF DEVICE BY VNUS
Vein problems, including spider veins and varicose veins, affect over 25 million people in the United States—often a result of chronic superficial venous insufficiency. While there are several options to treat this problem, including vein stripping, we found the Closure technique to be the most efficacious and cosmetically pleasing technique, especially to treat varicose veins. This device and technique developed by VNUS sets the industry standard in treating chronic superficial venous insufficiency. The Closure^® device works by inserting a thin catheter into the affected vein, heating it gently through radio frequency (RF) energy resulting in collapse or closure of the vein. This redirects the flow of blood thereby reducing or collapsing the dilated varicose vein. Compared to vein stripping and laser vein devices, studies have shown the Closure^® device to have some of the lower complication rates and the greatest patient satisfaction in terms of cosmetic outcome.
